Exhibiting at Exeter Forecourt Roadshow

Loomis is to exhibit its SafePoint i-deposit at the Exeter Forecourt Roadshow on Wednesday 8th September at Exeter Rugby Club, Devon.

Exhibiting at IJL 2010 - Diamonds and Jewellery

Loomis are to exhibit at this years International Jewellery London exhibition (IJL), at Earls Court on the 5th to 8th September, 2010.

Representatives from Loomis will be on stand C116 to provide insight into specialist Diamonds & Jewellery services and offer advice on both risk management and cash flow security.

Loomis sponsors Britannia Tadcaster FC in support of Help for Heroes

On Saturday 31st July, Britannia Tadcaster Football Club, sponsored by Loomis, placed 11 brave souls on the Tadcaster Albion football grounds to face the 1st Battallion Yorkshire Regiment in support of Help for Heroes.

Around 400 people witnessed a very tough football match with the local team Britannia FC "in support of Help for Heroes" nearly beating a fit and passionate 1st Yorks team.

Fake £1 coins on the increase

Almost two million counterfeit £1 coins were returned to the Royal Mint in the last financial year. This was more than 23 times higher than the number seized six years earlier.

An estimated 1 in 36 £1 coins in circulation is counterfeit, prompting a campaign by the Royal Mint advising the public on how to spot forgeries.

Convenience Store launches petition to Prime Minister

Convenience Store magazine has launced a petition to the Prime Minister calling for greater protection, improved response to incidents and stiffer sentences for those found guilty of violent attacks on shopworkers.

From Convenience Store;

"Enough is enough: this needs to go right to the top. The murder last month of Diana Garbutt in the living quarters above her post office in Melsonby, North Yorkshire, means that six store owners or workers have been murdered in local shops since January 2009. Coming as it does so soon after the brutal slaying of Gurmail Singh in his c-store in Huddersfield, it is now clear to everyone in the neighbourhood retail industry that the government and the law enforcement authorities need to give a higher priority to protecting those serving communities in local stores."
